Getting closer to Vrindavana

After having thanked Tanmoy Goswami who kindly invited us here, and shared both his hospitality and Ayurvedic treatments, we are ready to depart.

Ananda Gauranga Prabhu met us at the train station with prasadam for the 20 hour trip.

The train came and we rushed to board. No crowds or coolies here.

Once on board we couldnt help but notice the beauty of the South Indian landscape as the train wended its way through Kanartika, then Goa and finally by nightfall, Maharasrta.

Here are some photos taken from the train.

When we awoke the view was totally different. Entering the outskirts of Mumbai we saw humanity struggling with city life. Overcrowded and dirty surroundings were a stark contrast to where we had just been.

On the train the man sitting in our compartment was from a small town in South India, but now lived in Mumbai. He admitted that life was far better where he came from, yet he was now habituated to all the inconveniences, pollution and rush of the city. He prefers that now.

Arriving in Mumbai we were greeted by devotees who quickly took us from the station to the Radha Gopinatha temple in Chowpatti. Happily we have come to Mumbai to see our son,Jaya Gurupada and also to offer some service here at the temple, before heading on to Sri Vrindavana dham.

It is already clear that there is a special atmosphere here. The devotees work very cooperatively together in a very organized way to please Srila Prabhupada.

Photos and articles will be posted as time allows.
