Gopinatha's two Govardhana Festivals

 

Govardhana Puja at Gopinatha dham

 

 

A simple festival was held at Gopinatha dham to celebrate the lifting of Govardhana hill. During a sweet kirtan and the circumambulation of Giriraja, preparations of fruits, nuts, halava, cookies and other sweets were offered. This was followed by arati, class and a bhajan. The mood was very sweet and Giriraja seemed happy with our humble attempts to please Him.

 

 

 
 
Sri Radha-Gopinatha are seated upon Giriraja,who is situated on the side of Govardhana hill. All the residents of Vrindavana have come to worship Govardhana as advised by Krishna Himself.

Chowpatti  Mumbai

 

Gopinatha is celebrating Govardhana puja in two places this year!!

 

Having travelled from Udupi, He arrived in Chowpatti, Mumbai,at the Radha Gopinatha Mandira.

 

 

 

 

Thus when the Govardhana Puja festival was about to begin, Gopinatha inspired the sincere devotees taking care of the festival with the idea of placing Him atop Giriraja on top of the prasadam hill made by the devotees.

 

 

 

 

There He bacame very happy seeing so many happy, chanting devotees all eager to hear His pastime of lifting Govardhana Hill.

 

 

 

 

His Holiness Radhanatha Swami who is presently in America was sent live video of the whole festival. Everyone was very happy.
