Remembrance with affection

January 5th 2007

When, three years ago [in Vrindavana] Sucirani left this world, we at Gopinatha dham, were stricken with sadness and doubts about our future.

Suci was an essential part of our project here [as well as our lives] in so many ways.

At first it was quite a struggle to maintain our faith that Gopinatha had taken care of her and He would also take care of us!!

Yesterday was the day for us to remember her.

The morning began on a happy note with the postman delivering a package from India. Inside were items we had purchased in Puri and shipped to Perth. They are to become part of our Puri section in the gallery.

We saw them as gifts arriving for this special occasion and so we shared them together in that mood.

In the evening we had a small kirtan gathering with those who knew and loved her.

MEANWHILE

Ananda Tirtha, Sucirani's son now lives in America.

Thus the following morning [here in Perth] was the previous evening in New Vrindavana, America where a similar program was taking place. Devotees gathered for kirtan and hearing about Suci from her son.

At his request I shared a few words by speaker phone with the group.

Another chance for special rememberance.
