 Webster's Third New International Dictionary

It's bigger (and heavier) than two telephone books! I think it's the largest dictionary I've ever seen, and it's unabridged.

unabridged - "being the most complete of it's class"

This book is meant to help my writing; to increase my vocabulary and use of words. Have to admit it looks quite formidable. Some determination will be required to study its contents.

This word "unabridged" is interesting. It means the most complete, and within unabridged is the word bridge.

How does the unabridged dictionary define the word bridge?

bridge - "a structure erected over a depression or obstacle to travel "

Interesting. Within the "most complete" there will naturally be a "bridge"

          Here are  some bridges

This is a humble structure. Not guaranteed strong enough. Worn out by age.

This one is much more substantial

And this one's strong enough and long enough to span the ocean to connect the  two sides of a bay.

Now look at this !

Here's the most spiritually complete source of knowledge. The many volumes below are the different chapters (cantos) of the Srimad Bhagavatam.

This is what this work offers.

"Completely rejecting all religious activities which are materially motivated, this Srimad Bhagavatam propounds the highest truth, which is understandable by those who are fully pure in heart.

The highest truth is "reality distinguished from illusion for the welfare of all"..

This beautiful Srimad Bhagavatam is sufficient in itself for God realization..as soon as one attentively and submissively hears ..The Supreme Lord is established within his heart.

 A Bridge

So here's a far greater reading challenge than that mighty dictionary. Unabridged spiritual knowledge. A bridge for travelling beyond depression and ostacles. This mighty bridge is meant to span the vast distance between matter and spirit.

Without understanding the value of that challenge, our life is not complete.

Opening the Bhagavatam I read.......

"The Vedas are described as setu which means "a bridge." If one wants to attain his spiritual existence, one has to cross an ocean of nescience. The Vedas are the bridge by which to cross such a great ocean."
