Srila Prabhupada speaking in 1966.
His audience are middle class Americans hardly acquainted with Bhagavad-Gita, still he shares one important point after another with them.
"After many, many births, when a person, when a soul, is perfectly elevated to the platform of real knowledge, transcendental knowledge, then what does he do?"
"He surrenders unto Me,"
Krishna says. "He surrenders unto Me!"
Why?
"Because You are everything"
But any intelligent person, if he understands this philosophy, that my ultimate goal of life is to surrender unto Krishna, why not surrender immediately?
-----
Surrender why and when ?
WHY? Krishna is everything.
WHEN? immediatly, if you are intelligent .
-----
Unconditional Surrender
Recently I discovered a website which presented Ayurvedic remedies, with a distinctly American flavour. There I read an article by the Hostess, Ingrid Naiman wherein she shared her reflections upon life:
" ..If it were simple, no one would have to meditate more than once in a lifetime and psychotherapy would take 20 minutes, not 20 years. There is, however, a short cut and that short cut has always been there. The short cut is unconditional surrender to Divine Will, not political will, not theocracy or ideology, but Divine Will.
This is not a group experience. It is a mystical experience, which occurs one person at a time, when persons are sincere enough to ask for guidance. This is like changing the operating system in a computer. The machinery is still the same but the guidance system is totally different, and this creates all kinds of new possibilities.
Until we surrender, we are, no matter how pious, completely idiosyncratic. There is nothing transpersonal and nothing of importance beyond oneself until the moment of surrender.
Then inspiration replaces malfunctioning karmic agenda.
No can achieve this transcendence by imitating another. Freedom from the repercussions of dysfunctional personal agenda always comes with surrender of the ego to inspiration. There is no other way but the way has always been there and it has always been lighted and beaconing."

Srila Prabhupada continues his lecture :
First of all, first business is:- "Sir, I surrender unto you."
"We are talking like friends. This will not solve the problem. Therefore I am submitting unto You as Your disciple I surrender unto You. Now You can teach me."
As soon as you accept guru, you have to hear him. You cannot unnecessarily argue.. One must surrender.. Arjuna did that.
Therefore Arjuna learned the Bhagavad-Gita, and it was always a relief for him when he was perplexity..
The blazing fire within the heart, within the core of the heart, immediately becomes minimized. As soon as I remember, my consciousness, my heart, core of heart, becomes immediately relieved.
How it is relieved?
Why it is relieved?
"Govinda instructed... Govinda is Krishna"

Srila Prabhupada speaks this essential message of surrender time and again.
He wants us to experience the freedom, peace, and happiness we have been searching for life after life in this world.
Urgently, repeatedly he gives us the reasons. Succinctly he answers all the questions related to...
HOW, WHEN and WHY.
